You're Probably Going to See a Lot of This....
Hey everyone! Hope you've had a great week so far. Thank you for joining me on the very first week of my new blog series, 'Weekly Shoutout!'.
I'm wanting to give the blog a bit more structure, so Wednesdays will be dedicated to makeup/skincare related posts, Thursdays will be reserved for all nail/art posts, and Fridays are going to be a new post to this series, where I will be sharing 5 products (beauty/nails/lifestyle) that I have been using and loving all week.
I hope that you enjoy and like this idea, and hopefully I'll get to show you even more products that I haven't necessarily talked about on here before. So without further a do, lets get cracking with week 1!
Maybe as the weeks go on, my flatlays will improve too!
Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil
I picked this up from work in an attempt to start looking after my hair better. I already use a Bumble and Bumble shampoo and conditioner, so figured I'd stick to the same brand for any other haircare products.
This can be used in a couple of different ways, my favourite way to use it is when my hair is dry, once styled I use one pump warmed into my hands, then comb it through the very ends where my hair is most dry and vulnerable. It can also be used in wet hair before using heat, avoiding the roots, just combing through the tips. I find it to be weightless, and to not make my hair greasy - thankfully!
The oil helps to soften, silken, tame, de-frizz, and detangle, everything I need at the moment, especially as the weather has been so hot. It will also protect against heat/UV damage, so a great all round product.
For 100ml it will cost you £33, yes I know, I was hesitant at first, but a little does go a long, long way with this oil, my hair goes to just below the shoulders and one pump is enough. I use once a day, maybe twice if my hair is being super awkward. Definitely worth a try.
Leighton Denny Hydra-Flex Serum
So this is what I meant in the title, you are probably going to see a lot of Leighton Denny products in this series as I truly do love the brand and use their products on a regular basis.
As a lot of my blog work centres around my hands and nails, I like to try and keep them in the best possible condition. However I do like to get my hands dirty, decorating, gardening, working... So finding nail care/hand care products is essential. Nobody wants to be seeing grubby skin and nails with a bit of polish slapped on do they?!
The Hydra-Flex is my go-to nail treatment, a small amount popped onto each cuticle, massaged in over the nail too helps to keep my nails healthy, strong and nourished, looking their very best for you guys!
A 12ml bottle costs £12, and again, a little goes a long way. I don't tend to use this daily, maybe 2-3 times a week. If your nails don't really get put through the ringer, you could easily get away with even less use. It has been made to target Dry and Brittle nails, worth bearing in mind as I know Leighton Denny carries different treatments for different nail problems.
This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray
Oh my goodness guys, I have been majorly impressed with this badboy. It was found in the Marks and Spencer's Summer Beauty Box promotion, and I've been using it every night since.
Literally a couple of sprays over my pillow will help me have the best nights sleep. I don't know how as I am the worst kind of sleeper, waking up constantly, sometimes it will take me for what seems like forever to wind down and actually fall asleep.
The pillow spray has helped to cut down the time taken for me to fall asleep, and it puts me into a really good deep sleep. I wake up every morning feeling so much brighter!
Some pillow sprays can be really overpowering, this one isn't too strong, like I said before two sprays is enough, anything more could potentially give me a headache.
Juvia's Place The Douce Palette
I bought this a while back from Beauty Bay, but have been using it more and more this week. There's still three colours I'm yet to play with, (the silver, green and purple), but the others are so easy to use, even for work.
It consists of 5 mattes, and 4 shimmers, one of which makes an incredible topper as it has a iridescent violet shimmer. Neautrals and bright pops of colour. They all blend with ease, perfectly pigmented and last all day with no creasing or patchiness (I always apply over a primer/concealer).
The Douce Palette cost £20 which I think is amazing value for money.
How to be an Overnight Success by Maria Hatzistefanis
Finally, but not least, is this captivating and highly motivating book by the Founder and CEO of Rodial beauty and Nip+Fab.
Learn how this incredible woman turned her dreams into reality, building her company from the ground up, sharing helpful tips and motivational ideas.
Admittedly I didn't read this all in one go, I kept dipping in and out of it, chapter by chapter, but it was thoroughly enjoyed and one that I will keep on show for when I need a little push in the right direction.
So there ends the first entry into this new series! What do you think? Yay or nay? Let me know in the comments. My aim is for these posts to be quite minimal, giving the briefest of reviews whilst still shining the spotlight on some of my all time faves. I also want you to get involved too! Let me know if you can relate on my love of these products, or maybe you really don't like them? Either way I'd love to chat more with you guys!
Thank you for reading,
Love, Leanne Xx
