The Work Collection by YAB Cosmetics
I'm so lucky to have the privilege of working with this luxurious, cruelty free, handmade in the U.K. Brand. They are still fairly new on the scene, but every polish I have played with so far has had such an incredible formula to match incredibly beautiful colours.
The Work Collection was released in January, and boy what a collection it is! There is a fabulous selection of polishes, from a holo-licious topper, a cheeky matte, a super glossy - almost but not really jelly blue, a shimmery pinky/lilac and more!
Let's take a closer look...
If a collection includes a pink or lilac, then that is the polish I will be drawn to first! I love my pinks! So here is She's a Boss...
Just stunning isn't it! It's not quite pink, not quite lilac, it's perfectly aligned between the two and with such a shy twinkle too. I loved it instantly, and if you love your pastels, so will you. With the spring season upon us it is definitely time to be cracking out more of these shades, I'm more than ready to be getting ready for lighter days with some sun.
The formula is perfection - as are all the polishes within this collection - and it'll probably seem like I'm repeating myself a little as we go on! The photo shows two coats with a topcoat, as you can see there is full and even coverage. Without a topcoat this polish dries to a low - shine finish, so I do recommend using one just to make those little sparkles sparkle!
Next up is Hustler, a Tiffany blue/green that is just so pretty!
It's a fantastic bright and cheerful colour that I love next to my pasty white skin, but wouldn't it just look amazing next to darker or tanned tones?!
Again the photo shows two coats to perfection, and a topcoat. There is full and even cover, and without the topcoat it still dries to a high gloss finish. So if you're rushing out of the door you will definitely get away without one.
This next polish really surprised me! In a good way obviously! Here is Grit and Grace...
What a beautiful matte! It even has a subtle shimmer to just give it a bit of a lift. Trust YAB Cosmetics to make perfection more perfect!
The photo shows two coats with no topcoat. It dries in record breaking time with no streaks or patches. Obviously a topcoat - unless matte - would take away from the idea of this particular polish, but I did try it with my Seche Vite Topper and it still looked as sexy as ever.
Speaking of toppers, here is Soul Food...
This photo shows two helpings over Grit and Grace. Look at all the wonderful colours in the glitters! This Topper could easily be built up on its own, but I really like how it looks over a colour as intended. The glitters are neither too chunky or too fine, they are ... perfect - there's that word again!
Adding a topcoat really helps those glitters pop, but also gives a smoother finish. Without a topcoat this polish dries really quick with an even scattering of glitter over the nail. It does dry smooth - but obviously you can feel a tiny amount of graininess. If you prefer a super glossy, super smooth finish, you will need one.
I have saved my most favourite of the collection until last! Here is Hard Graft...
This is the almost jelly but not quite that I mentioned in the intro. It is the sheerest of all the collection, and I used three coats for the photo to really build the colour up and hide the nail line. I would describe it as a jelly, though I found it a lot easier to handle than any jelly polish I've tried before. There was no gloopiness or dragging. No patchiness! It built up like a dream too, and guess what? No topcoat is used in the photo but look at that shine! Very glossy indeed. MJ you have outdone yourself with this one. Here it is again guys --- ultimate PERFECTION!
Well obviously you haven't been reading if you don't know by now just how much I adore this set! Every collection that YAB releases exceeds the last, and I truly can't wait to see more from this super stylish brand.
The whole collection can be yours HERE for £32 which I think is great value for 5 full size, high quality handmade polishes. To buy individually they are £7.
Thank you for reading!
Love, Leanne Xx
