Organic Lavender and Geranium Cleansing Oil

Discovering my love for Organic Trevarno

Here is another post dedicated to the ongoing saga of finding natural, organic skincare for my stressed out skin!

Since I began blogging and taking Instagram more seriously, I have met some wonderful people who have been able to help me and direct me to some wonderful products. I have been using Apothaka Skincare's facial oil (and cuticle oil too!) made by the lovely Natasha Dauncey and I've noticed such a huge improvement in my skin. It has made me really want to improve the other daily products I use too, and until Natasha releases even more fabulous goodies, I asked for her advice on what I could use as a cleanser that would work well alongside the facial oil. She recommended using a cleansing oil...

The search began

Well where to start?! Last year I made many, many tweaks to go completely cruelty-free with my beauty products and after reading THIS guest post by another lovely lady, Beth from the enjoyable blog Toasty Writes, I knew to start my search at Naturisimo.

This website offers free worldwide delivery on a huge range of luxurious cruelty-free, fair-trade, and safe beauty products. I typed into search 'cleansing oil' and up popped this beauty by Trevarno.

A bit about Trevarno

I wont go on and on about this, but I was really excited to see that this brand originates from one of my most favourite and beloved places in the world -- Cornwall! They use organic ingredients from organic farmers and growers which are entirely free from nasty chemicals and cruelty free.

They offer a wide range of beauty products well worth trying out. The packaging is simple but beautiful, and the prices are... fair. I am not above paying that bit extra for a product that comes from organic sources and which I trust will do good for my skin.

Find them on Facebook and Instagram, or just have a nosey on their website!

Lavender and Geranium cleansing oil

So here we are finally! Onto the star of the post -- the lavender and geranium cleansing oil. This cost £21 for 100ml, again with free delivery.

It is a rich oil which you massage into the face, gently cleansing and removing make up and the days grime! Breathe it in as you massage, it smells wonderful. It has a very delicate, relaxing aroma, which is both great to wake up on a morning with, and settle down on an evening after work.

Once fully worked into the face, rinse away with warm water, using a cloth if desired. It has no problem melting away make up, even stubborn eyeliner and mascara.

When the oil has been removed, your skin will feel lovely and soft, and well nourished. There is no greasy residue, no tell tale signs that you have even used an oil, just a lovely clean face!

My Results and Review

Obviously everyone is different and so wont necessarily notice the same results as me, but I am completely converted to this cleansing oil. I have spot - prone skin and my problem areas flare up without warning no matter what I use. All I can do is help them, reduce the redness, reduce the swelling, and hopefully reduce their numbers haha!

This cleansing oil alongside the facial oil by Apothaka Skincare has been helping to keep more breakouts at bay, and the remaining ones calm. I have minimal redness and swelling, and my skin in general just looks a bit brighter and healthier. I still have my off days like anyone - but the majority of the time there is a definite improvement.

I also find that my makeup looks better, and lasts longer throughout the day, especially around the nose and eye area. This to me shows that that my skin is a lot better moisturised than before.

It has been a little over a month that I began using the Trevarno cleansing oil, but I did start to notice small changes in skin after the first few days. Please give it a whirl, I believe they do different scents, using different oils for different skin types if lavender isn't your first choice.
