Bobbie and Bernie

We haven't had a Bobbie post in a while, so let's fix that. He's been pretty quiet lately, I think all of the fuss and food of Christmas has worn the poor boy out haha! At the moment he's quite happy to just curl up nearby and snooze, a feeling I can also relate to, how about you? Christmas can be exhausting!

Anyways, a good few weeks ago we had taken a nice long walk up to the grandparents, who have one of those Steiff husky bears that are similar to the size of Bobbie. Usually Nanna keeps Bernie (the husky) out of the way, propped up on top of a chair so that he doesn't get his nose chewed off...

However, on this particular visit, Bernie was snuggled up in Bobbie's favourite chair, I mean, how very dare he?! To our amazement, Bobbie hopped on up and snuggled in with Bernie. It was the cutest thing ever, very out of character, and of course out came my phone to take all the photos....

I love to see this side of him, usually anything with fluffiness doesn't last two seconds with him about! I needed one of these husky bears for myself, but not at Steiff prices...

When I got home with him, I popped the kettle on and started searching online. Surely someone somewhere would have something similar? Good old Ebay had me covered, a seller was making these husky dogs (obviously not the same standard of Steiff but for Bobbie it would do!) in three different sizes, the largest one was sold out, but to be fair the medium one is huge enough at the side of him. It only cost about £20 as well, with free delivery, bonus.

When it arrived I didn't even realise as it had been vacuum packed into a ball! I cut open the bag and out Bobbie's new husky friend popped. It was like one of those joke tins! It puffed out pretty well, just needed a quick shake.

I'm having to keep my eye on Bobbie as he keeps wanting to nibble at it, and yes, he had a go at humping it, a habit I thought he'd left behind at the vets with his you know whats.

Thankfully as the days have gone on, theres been no more humping and the nibbling has subsided, he just tends to lick it a lot haha! The best thing is, is that he now snuggles up with it. It's his new friend! I just wish he could be this good with real dogs!

What do you think of Bobbie's new friend? Do you have anything similar for your fur babies?

Thanks for reading,

Love, Leanne & Bobbie Xx
