A Night at The Glam Factory
Last week I was invited to like a new page on Facebook set up by my friend that was introducing her brand new venture 'The Glam Factory'. This idea is basically introducing pamper nights where you can relax, try out premium beauty products and learn a few tips and tricks along the way. At the moment they are set up practically on my doorstep in Pudsey, Leeds, but they travel all over, so if you wanted to have your very own pamper party in the comfort of your own home, they cater to that too.
Here's my experience...
I arrived late, which is not like me at all but my taxi was running late - typical! When I finally got there, I was greeted with a glass of Prosecco and was shown to my table all set up with a mirror, makeup brushes, and a brochure of products available. Three ladies were running the show including my friend Elisabeth, and they proceeded to give our small group a quick and friendly chat about the products and company, and what we were to expect from the night.
We were then invited to try out some products on our hands so that they were nice and clean before we started to touch our faces and play with the makeup. The first product I tried was the 'Foaming Sea Salt Scrub', which can be used all over the body. I found it to smell amazing, very refreshing and it was also a very gentle exfoliant with a gentle lather too. We all tried this on just one hand so we could compare the difference after. Once we dried our hands we were all treated to a hand massage using the 'Ultra Hydrating Hand Creme' which again smelt wonderful but was also very light and quickly absorbed into the skin with no greasy residue.
Holding both my hands together I could actually see an instant difference! The hand which had used these products felt smoother, plump and actually looked brighter. The hand which hadn't looked dry, red...it just looked old and worn haha!
After we all compared hands we were invited to try out some cleansers to remove our makeup. I decided to sit this one out as not only had I spent ages on my makeup (I know not to wear any next time!) but I also was lacking the confidence to take my makeup off in front of a handful of people I didn't really know - even though they were all friendly enough.
It was lovely to see everyone enjoying the products though, I quite enjoyed being the spectator for the night. One of the ladies gave us a demonstration on how to use one of their serums with a device that gently warms up to massage the product into the skin creating the best results possible. I found this very interesting, I've not seen anything quite like it on the high street and will hopefully have a go with it next time.
My Prosecco was topped up and it was time to move onto the makeup, my favourite part! Obviously I had a face full of makeup but I really enjoyed watching the others transform their faces. All the way through application we were given helpful tips and tricks with a live demonstration on ways we could use particular products.
As the other ladies were applying their makeup I was tempted to a hand and arm massage - just so I wasn't left out. It was so relaxing, this time I exfoliated both hands and arms using a different Sea Salt Scrub, this one was part of their Aromassentials Awaken range. It smelt divine, and I will be buying myself a pot of it after Christmas for on an evening after a long days hard work. I imagine it would feel like a dream on tired feet and legs. I know its been designed to wake you up on a morning, but I'm all about mixing it up! Then came the massage... It was lovely, the lady used the Aromassentials Awaken Body Lotion which smelt just as good as the scrub and sank straight into the skin, if using on a morning you won't be hanging around ages before being able to get dressed.
I sat back in my seat and watched everyone finish off their makeup. They all looked beautiful and ready for a night out on the town. Everyone really seemed to have had such a good night. We were all given a wish list of the products tried and then we said our goodbyes...
I know that the point of these nights is to sell their products, but it was done in such a way that it didn't feel like they were selling. It just felt like a girly night in with some bubbly, playing with makeup, having a good old pamper, and learning some new things too. These nights will be different every time, and they can be completely bespoke to what you want to learn about and try.
The room was set up smashing, all the products were laid out for you to sample and see, applicators on demand, and the attention to detail was all there such as lit up mirrors, glitter place mats, and of course free Prosecco!
Everyone was so pleasant, and I love that it wasn't a room full of people, just a small group where nobody disappeared into the background, everybody could get involved. Again these ladies can travel all over (within reason!) so please feel free to get in touch with them on their Facebook page if you fancy a pamper party at your home, or with with any enquiries you may have. Also, if you are interested in any of the products mentioned, please get in touch with Elisabeth through the page and she can give you a special code to complete your transaction and up to 40% off prices as a preferred client.
Thank you for reading and be sure to let me know if you treat yourself to some pampering with The Glam Factory!
Love, Leanne Xx
