Harry Potter : Becoming a Potthead!

That got your attention didn't it? Haha! I don't know what came over me, I think it was all the posts I kept seeing on my friends timelines and inst-feeds that made me feel like I was missing out. But something just washed over me one day, and I knew I had to become a Potthead....not that kind of Potthead, the other kind!

Where to start? I mean Harry Potter has been around for yonks... was I in over my head? I started where any normal, sensible person would start. Amazon. Oh yes! Everything I needed to get started was there.

I added the 7 book box set to my basket along with Fantastic Beasts and Where to find themQuidditch Through the Ages and The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Ok, so that was all the books sorted...what next?

Ah of course, DVD's! I'd already seen the first few films years ago... but even more had been released since then. I decided to just pop the box set into the basket as well.

That was enough to get me started. I was well on my way to becoming a Harry Potter fan...

I was so surprised when Rob of all people decided that he was going to sit and watch the films with me! This is not his normal cup of tea, but I think he enjoyed them none the less. I absolutely adored the films, and it was nice to see all the characters grow up and mature.

I've always enjoyed films surrounded with magic and mystery, which Harry Potter is, but it's also got the perfect amount of darkness to it too. I thoroughly enjoyed the films and finally saw what all the fuss is about.

To be completely honest, I have only just finished the first book. I love reading but sometimes finding the time is difficult. I am looking forward to jumping into the second book, The Chamber of Secrets I believe?

I really feel like they did an amazing job with the films after reading just one of the books. They kept to the story so well, I often find that films based on books can really lose their way and become very disappointing, but the Harry Potter films have really enhanced the reading experience for me! My imagination isn't what it used to be, so it's nice to have those scenes in my mind as I'm reading.

I posted something on Facebook when my Potter parcel first arrived, and a few of the ladies I regularly talk to steered me towards the Pottermore website. I went ahead and downloaded the app as there is just so much to it! It's incredible! So much thought and extra reading material, why can't they do this for all the great films out there?

Would you like to know what my Patronus is? My Hogwarts House? My Ilvermorny House? Can you guess?

So my Patronus is a Siberian Cat, Hogwarts House is Ravenclaw...any fellow Ravenclaws out there? My Invermorny House is Thunderbird, though I'm not quite sure what this is yet...feel free to fill me in in the comments below.

I made a real quick start to exploring the 100 locations, and I mean a real quick start, I think I've only clicked on 10 so far. Is there anyone reading who has discovered them all yet?

So there is the beginning of my Potter journey, I am loving the experience so far. I think that the whole story is just incredible and magical for the younger generation, but you know what, I think it's a really great escape from the real world for adults too!

I'm hoping to visit the studio tour down in London one year, preferably around Christmas time, it looks awesome! Have any of you guys been? What did you think to it?

I think that is it for today, maybe I have time now to make a start on The Chamber of Secrets with a cuppa....hmm yes! Sounds like a plan!

Thank you for reading and see you tomorrow

Love, Leanne Xx
