Autumn Walks with our Crazy Dog
One of our most favourite local places to go walking with Bobbie is Post Hill. I won't go into too much detail about our crazy Jack Russell's behaviour, but finding a good spot to go where there's not going to be many other dogs about for walkies is important.
This trail is beautiful in the Summer, but even more beautiful as the leaves start to fall and turn in Autumn. It can get a little muddy so you need your wellies, but it is such an enjoyable walk, especially as it's usually really quiet, calm. You can even walk alongside the brook which is nice and relaxing with the sound of the water flowing.
You can stay on a straight and easy path, or if you fancy a bit of a challenge and want to give yourself and the pooch a good workout, you can make your way right to the top of the hill. On a clear dry day you have the most pretty views, it is so peaceful and calm. I sometimes forget just how beautiful our home town is, but standing at the top of this hill is a great reminder. Of course with Bobbie in tow we aren’t stood around for long as he likes to keep moving haha!
Bobbie loves this walk as he can enjoy all the different smells and ground surfaces without the stress of bumping into lots of other dogs. He can just wander along and explore. We do however need to keep him on a lead just in case another dog does pop up. I like to put him on one of those really long training leads here so he feels like he has that bit more freedom but I can still quickly bring him back in close when needed.
After he's had a good trip around this trail along with the walk back home, he will be completely tired out and ready for a nap. Unfortunately when its this muddy he needs a quick bath first haha!

Thank you for reading and see you tomorrow!
