Leighton Denny: Quick Mini-Haul / Swatching Session
I’m going to take a small breather from nail art so that I don’t completely run out of ideas before the month is up, instead, I’m going to share with you a mini-haul from L-D Boutique.
Not so long ago, Leighton Denny announced on his Instagram stories that he was hosting a flash sale over on his L-D Boutique website, of course I had to get in on this! There was all sorts on offer, but me being me was instantly drawn to the nail polishes…
I bought two mini size colours, one full size and a mini bottle of his peel off base coat.
I’m focusing on the two minis today, so lets take a closer look:
Jewellery Box is a juicy, berry colour with golden micro-glitters and flakies scattered within. It is the most beautiful polish, and almost reminds me of something that one of our talented Indie makers would come up with.
I wish that this was made in a full size 12ml bottle as I feel I will be running out of this in no time, it’s just so pretty! Perhaps it was once made in full size and I missed out.
As with all Leighton Denny polishes, the formula is to perfection, I used two coats for full and even cover, and the glitters naturally placed themselves over the nail evenly with each brush stroke, there was no messing around or uncomfortable grouping of flakies.
Also, how perfect is this going to be for the Christmas/New Year party season?!
Avalanche of Love
This polish is jam packed full of silver and gold flakies and glitters, all different sizes and shapes. It has an incredible twinkle, very pretty and very eye-catching. It would work perfectly as a glitter topper over any of your other colours, but here I decided to build it up and wear alone.
It didn’t take as much building up as I thought it would - the photo shows just 2 generous applications. There was no gloopiness or mess like you can often get when adding extra coats of glitter polishes.
Avalanche of Love is also going to be stunning for the party season, but who needs an excuse to sparkle really? I certainly don’t haha!
With both photos I used Leighton Denny’s One for All to seal them in, I have a stash of this clear coat as it can be sometimes hard to get a hold of, so I like to make sure I have a few bottles to hand. It makes for a fabulous base or topcoat, but mostly I love it for creating decals which I may have mentioned in previous posts. It doesn’t dry too thick or thin so it’s super easy to transfer your design onto the nail. Anyway - I’m straying off topic!
I’m so happy with my purchase, perhaps I should have taken advantage of the sale and bought multiples as they really were such great value. You can still get hold of these over on his website, they are currently sitting at £6 each.
Which is your favourite of the two? Did you take advantage of the flash sale and if so, what did you treat yourself to?
Thanks for reading,
Love, Leanne Xx
