Guest Post by Tipped Off Nails
First of all, thank you Leanne for inviting me to be a guest blogger! I decided to pick out some of my favourite autumn creme polishes and do some nail art based around that colour for this special post. I have to say, I have thoroughly enjoyed dong this as it’s got me back into nail art again, I have been slacking recently and was feeling very uninspired. Let’s jump straight in with the first colour, it’s a good one!
Mustard Yellow: Barry M - Mustard
I love a good mustard yellow for autumn and Barry M’s Mustard is top notch! It may be my inner Hufflepuff that draws me to this colour but it also reminds me of when the leaves first start turning. This is also where my inspiration for the nail art came from.
I also love a good grey polish for the cooler, wetter weather we get during autumn, and for the transition into winter. This cool-toned grey from ITSY Nails is perfect for this! Talking of cooler weather makes me think cosy, knitted jumpers and so…

Burgundy: Floss Gloss - Picnic
I can’t make it through autumn or winter without burgundy/dark red on my nails at least once a month! It’s one of my favourite shades of red to wear as I think it suits my skin tone better than a vibrant red. I fancied adding a simple tartan check to this red but I’m not entirely sure I love how it turned out. Maybe I just need to practice this more.
Another colour I can’t live without in the cooler months (or any time of the year really!) is Navy Blue. Barry M’s Blackberry was one of the first 2 Gelly Hi Shine shades to be released and it has been one of my most reached for polishes ever since, I’m surprised there is any left! I wasn’t sure what to add to this at first but the more I looked at the colour the more it reminded me of the night sky just before the sun went fully down and the moon is out!

Khaki Green: Barry M - Matcha
Khaki green is a relatively new favourite on my colour palette but I love it now! Matcha is one of the newer Gelly Hi Shine shades from Barry M and I’m glad they added it to the selection. I’ve added pumpkins to this one to make it look like they’re resting on the luscious green pumpkin patch.
Last but no means least, we have dark plum purple - maybe my favourite of all. This one in particular from Kiko is so stunning that I didn’t want to overwhelm it with too much nail art and kept it relatively simple with some added rose gold (another colour that is an absolute winner for me!). I then found some rose gold nail stickers and added a couple of those too!

And there we have it - that’s my top 6 all time favourite colours for autumn! I was going to do 5 but I couldn’t cut out that final colour, and I’m so glad I didn’t. Most of the polishes and products used are still available and I have linked them where possible. I hope you have enjoyed this blog post and my nail art - let me know your favourite colours to wear for this season!
