Winter Skincare Must-Haves

I don’t know about you, but the cold, winter months tend to suck all of the bounce and moisture out of my skin! So I thought that todays post could be a great opportunity to share with you all the products I’ve been loving to use which help to protect, repair and hydrate my skin, both for the face and body.

When the air outside is so dry, the moisture in our skin begins to evaporate at a much quicker rate. This is what leaves it feeling dry and tight, raisin - like! The same effect happens when we are sat inside, all cosied up with the heating/fireplace turned on full blast. It is important to try and give our skin that extra bit of help, using products such as the ones I share with you in this post, to give back a bit of that moisture and keep ourselves looking and feeling nice and juicy!

If you keep up with my posts you will probably recognise some of these products…

The Inkey List - Hyaluronic Acid Serum

This has been one of my favourite finds of the year, even the hubby is loving it. I’m on to my second bottle, it’s a product that I will continue to repurchase as it really is a little gem.

After washing your face, apply a small, pea-sized amount of the Hyaluronic Acid Serum. You will feel a difference straight away, especially if you have dry skin anyway as the skin instantly becomes incredibly hydrated and soothed.

You can continue with your normal routine after, adding your favourite serum, oil and moisturiser which by the way will probably start to work better for you now! This serum has multiple molecular weights to target both higher and lower layers of skin, meaning that the products applied after will penetrate more fully than before.

Filorga - Hydra-Filler

Another product that I just can’t live without, and I’m not sure that I’ve mentioned it here on the blog before…

I use this every single morning without fail. It contains a high concentration of pure hyaluronic acid which works in multiple layers to give your skin a boost of hydration, as well as a micro-filling effect on those fine lines caused by dehydration. There is also a bio-active ingredient in here which works to restore the skin’s role as a barrier, locking in all that moisture that you’ve just put in. After use your skin feels and looks radiant and plump.

The Hydra-Filler has a beautiful texture, very light and airy, a little goes a long way. It also smells incredible, something that I’ve noticed with most of Filorga’s products.

It is a little pricey at £45 for 50ml, but I do believe that your skin is worth investing in, and to be honest this tub has lasted me a fair few months and I’m still not near the end of it. It is suitable for all skin types, but I feel like if you have dry skin like me, you will really benefit from this moisturiser.

You can use this both morning and night.

Nuxe - Creme Prodigieuse Boost

Now then, I don’t believe this item is available to buy here in the UK just yet, if my inside information is correct we will see it hit the shelves January 2019. I got my hands on this in September when I attended a Beauty Conference with work. I have used it from the night I returned home (the conference was in London) to this very day. My skin and I adore it, and I’m actually becoming quite nervous that I’ve nearly run out of it and can’t yet replace it!

It is a night recovery oil balm - but don’t let this description fool you. It is a lovely, light and smooth texture that melts into the skin leaving no heavy or greasy residue. It also smells so yummy, which I know isn’t important so long as the product in question actually works, but it makes for an overall pleasant experience. The lovely brand rep that comes into store actually uses this as a mask, applying a thicker layer than normal and going to sleep in it.

My skin does not get on with London, it goes red, it breaks out, just becomes very angry looking. The night I got home from London I washed my face and did my usual routine, but popped this on as my night cream. When I woke up in the morning I looked like a different person haha! My skin was calm, the redness had gone, the spots were visibly smaller, and felt lovely and smooth.

From the moment you apply it your skin feels like its had the hit of moisture that it so longed for.

Unfortunately I don’t have any details of pricing, but stay tuned as I will most likely do a dedicated post to this when it does become available.

Those are my 3 winter wonders for the face, but let’s take a look at my favourites for the body…

Soap and Glory - The Daily Smooth Body Butter

I recently wrote about my Soap and Glory Mega Haul from Boots for Blogmas 2018, it’s a three part series (taking a leaf out of Shane Dawson’s book!), and this product was talked about. I can’t remember which post it was included in, and I have one more to go up next week, so I won’t go into too much detail here.

However what I will say is that it smells delicious, and feels wonderful. It really does hydrate the skin and takes away any tightness and dryness. Plus the price is fab - for 250ml it costs only £9!

Neom - Scent to Make you Happy Hand Balm

My hands really suffer at this time of year, becoming very dry and showing signs of Eczema - little red dots. Luckily, so far this year they haven’t been too bad, but I put it down to the fact that it hasn’t felt as cold as it usually does in November/December, but also this hand cream that I’ve been using religiously.

This tube sits on my desk so I can easily access it morning, noon and night, I pop it on after every hand wash, every morning, and before bed. Including ingredients such as Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Wild Mint, Mandarin and 6 mood boosting essential oils, 91% of people say they had smooth and hydrated hands after use. I am one of those people!

The Scent to make you Happy range is my absolute favourite from Neom, and I must invest in one of their luxury candles soon! If you would like to take a closer look at their range and prices, please click HERE.

I think that will do for today, have you tried any of the above products? Which are your favourites?

Thank you for reading, see you tomorrow

Love, Leanne Xx
