The Problem with Stila Magnificent Metals Liquid Eyeshadows

Hey everyone, todays post is going to be a bit of a rant which doesn't happen very often here at Polished by Leanne, but I have a bee in my bonnet, and need to get this off my chest! I will keep it short and ... not so sweet...

Before I get going, I want to say that I absolutely adore the Stila Magnificent Metal eyeshadows, they are so beautifully sparkly, easy to apply and last all day without creasing. The choice of colours are incredible, and the formula feels perfect on the delicate eye area. I'm not here to bash the brand at all!

The problem I've begun to have is this, I've noticed that they are drying out once you hit the halfway point. Its happened to a couple of colours (my favourites - by the way!), where there still looks to be half a bottle's worth of product left but when you pull the applicator out, theres nothing on it. I've tried everything from shaking the bottle, keeping them stood upright, even tried warming them up in a bowl of warm water. Nothing!

They claim to have a 12 month shelf life once opened, I've had mine since February this year. They aren't cheap either, retailing at Β£23 for a 4.5ml bottle. I am truly disappointed as they are such beautiful eyeshadows, and raved about by the top beauty influencers - you expect so much more!

Have any of you guys had this problem? I was chatting with my colleague at work and she's noticed the same, so I know it's not just me being a Negative Nelly. If you have any tips and tricks to prolong the life of them too, drop a comment below and I'll be forever grateful!

I will continue to use and love the remaining colours I own which still seem to work, but I'm afraid I'm discouraged from buying any more, and to be honest, I wouldn't like to recommend them to you guys either.

OK, rant over, but just like with the Models Own collection I reviewed a bit back, when you spend a lot of money on something you expect the very best, especially from such reputable brands. I still love Stila, and will continue to purchase other items from their range, just unfortunately not the liquid eyeshadows...

Thank you for reading,

Love, Leanne Xx
