Bare it All Foundation by Pur Cosmetics

Hey everyone! If you read my last post on the shape tape concealer, you'll know that I'd been wanting to write up this review but wanted to test the product out a touch more to give it a fair go. I really try and make sure I give products a good use before relaying any results and opinions back to you guys.

Anyway, we are going to be discovering the Bare it All foundation by Pur Cosmetics today. This brand isn't new to me, we sell it at my place of work and I also love to use their No Filter blurring photography primer. This is a cruelty free brand, as are all brands that I mention here on the blog.

I decided to give this foundation a go after watching thataylaa's Foundation Friday review. I'm fairly new to her channel so have been binge watching the series in effort to find my perfect, go-to foundation. After seeing her opinions on this and watching it in action, I knew I had to try it out for myself.

Pur Cosmetics Bare it All foundation

Coverage/How it feels on the skin

This is a true, full cover foundation. It is probably the thickest formulation that I have come across yet, but this isn't a bad thing - it's actually really easy to use and blend over the skin. I prefer to use a damp beauty blender with this, brushes just don't seem to give me the flawless finish that I can get from a sponge, and thats not just for this particular base its with any...

I tried using this with and without 'colour correcting' my problem areas with concealer first, and quickly realised that there was absolutely no need to waste time in this step. The Bare it All foundation immediately covers all darkness from under eyes, redness and spots and with no effort at all.

If you are extremely lucky and have minimal texture to your face, this is perfect for you if a full cover foundation is what you're after. I do suffer with texture at the moment, so whilst this covers my spots and redness, you can obviously still see where they are raised. I did notice that my pores seemed to be showing more with this product too, something I don't tend to notice with the other foundations I have tried. It doesn't overly bother me as I'd much rather show pores than acne...but if pores do bother you, you may want to give this badboy a miss. I think this may be down to the overall finish of the foundation...but I'll dip into that later.

You will find that you don't really need to use a lot of this in one go, even if you are someone who likes to layer up! As this is quite thick in consistency, building up layers may begin to feel uncomfortable during the day and show signs of creasing and/or cracking. It really is just unnecessary  I use the smallest amount with the damp beauty blender so that it easily works over the full face.

What's the finish like?

So the Bare it All foundation has a matte finish. Matte finishes do tend to show texture, it's just in their nature! It's supposed to be a semi-matte finish and it probably will be if you have oily or normal/combination skin, but if like me you have dry skin, this will probably just be a matte finish on you too.

I really advise to make sure you use a good moisturiser and primer before applying this, otherwise your skin may begin to look a bit parched as the hours go by. I've been using the Alpha-H SPF day moisturiser until today, as I'm starting out a new skincare regime using Liz Earle (stay tuned for that one haha!). As mentioned before I also use the No Filter primer by Pur too, which helps my skin to glow from beneath but also keep my face in place all day at work. You could even use this primer as a mixing medium if you are struggling with the consistency of the foundation until you get more used to it.

Also, it's worth noting that I have not had any issues with this oxidising, the shade you buy is the shade that will see you through the day without going orange/dark. As I am very fair I chose the lightest shade - Porcelain.

Longevity of wear

If I add up putting my make up on, travel time, and then a working day on top, it probably equates to roughly 10-11 hours. I can honestly say that after using this multiple times that it keeps its full cover without breaking up or fading for the whole day. The only thing I have noticed, is that I do get the slightest amount of creasing in my laughter lines near my mouth. Maybe a little around my eyes too. Nothing too extreme mind you, but it's there. This tends to be more noticeable around lunch time, so after 4-5 hours of wear.

This foundation at full price would cost you £29 for 45ml. I think this is good value for money as you really don't need to use a lot of product in one go, and not only that, it is a really great foundation, one of the best I've come across and one that I would definitely recommend. If you want to see it in action, please click HERE for thataylaa's video.

One other detail that I wanted to mention is that when you are applying this product you will probably notice that it is slightly scented. It has a hint of floral about it, which doesn't bother me, and hasn't affected my sensitive skin in the slightest.

Thank you for reading,
